Mark brings more than 40 years of aviation experience as an FAA Pilot Examiner, Gold Seal Flight Instructor, contract pilot, aircraft owner, and aerospace engineer.
He began flight training in 1982, became a flight instructor in 1988, earned ATP ratings in both single-engine and multi-engine airplanes, and became an FAA Pilot in 2000.
Mark conducts practical evaluations from Private Pilot through Airline Transport Pilot, including initial Flight Instructor Airplane and Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane certifications. His extensive examining and instructional background gives him a deep understanding of FAA standards, professional pilot expectations, aircraft operations, and the judgment required at advanced levels of aviation.
His experience includes:
FAA Pilot Examiner since 2000
Gold Seal Flight Instructor
ATP – Airplane Single-Engine and Multi-Engine
Learjet and Cessna Citation XL type ratings
Commercial Airplane Single-Engine Sea

Leadership in a flying organization that operated as many as 11 aircraft and supported approximately 160 pilots
Extensive personal flying throughout the United States and Bahamas
Mark also retired from Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control after a 37-year career as a mechanical engineer. His work included flight dynamics, aircraft performance, structural analysis, flight environments, and safety-of-flight design assurance.
That combination of engineering knowledge, professional flying, instruction and more than two decades of FAA examining experience gives Mark an unusually broad perspective.
For experienced military aviators preparing to move into professional civilian and airline operations, Mark offers the opportunity to learn from someone who understands both how pilots are evaluated and what is expected at the highest levels of professional aviation.
